Saturday Morning - Bart's Bash - The Largest Sailing Race in the World - Register Now
Published 14:40 on 9 Sep 2019
On Saturday 14th September we have a full day of fun and racing with our 2019 Bart's Bash in the morning and the Edie Sampson Trophy Race in the afternoon. Bring a picnic lunch; the bar will be open at lunchtime.
For the morning race, to count towards the 'world record attempt', your boat has to be registered as a Bart's Bash entry. You do not have to register to take part in the Club race but you are encouraged to do so as it optimises our support for this very worthy charity as well as emphasising the role Seafarers plays in the wider community. Race entry will be free but a donation of the order of £2.50 to the Andrew Simpson Foundation would be appreciated.
You will find full details of the morning's event, including how to register, at the Bart's Bash Event Page.
Practice Sailing and Cadet Practice Sailing on Saturday 14th September will be merged with the Bart's Bash event. For details go to the Practice Sailing page. There are some novices sailors that would like to participate in the experience of the Bart's Bash but need an experienced helm. If you have a large dinghy and would like a crew of 1-3 novices for a fun race, please get in contact with the Membership Secretary.
You will find full details of the afternoon's event at the Edie Sampson Trophy Race Event Page. After the race, the Vice Commodore will award prizes for both the morning and afternoon races. The bar will be open again and free snacks/nibbles will be available.
