Talk on the Role of the QHM

25 February, 20:15 - 21:30

Seafarers Sailing Club operates in waters that are under the jurisdiction of the Queen's Harbour Master, better know as QHM. Becky Walford, the Port Safety Officer Assistant has offered to come down to the Club to give us an insight into the work and role of QHM. She will focus on the interface with small craft and leisure sailors.

This should be a really interesting evening that will also help build our relationship with QHM and, most importantly, support broader initiatives to enable safer sailing in the Solent.

The bar will be open, so why not come down to the Club. Guests are welcome.

There is no charge for this event but, if you plan to attend, please book a seat via WebCollect to assist planning.

The pictures below illustrate a collision between a Wayfarer from Seafarers SC and a Dale Nelson 38' motorboat in the Solent in September 2007. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of QHM Portsmouth who initiated the subsequent investigation and prosecution by the Ministry of Defence Police.
