Frostbite 6 and the 2019 Gosport Half Marathon are both scheduled for the morning of 17th November. The Half Marathon Course comprises two loops both of which pass along Salterns Road behind the Club and the promenade in front of the Club.
Salterns Road is to be closed for the duration of the race between its junction with Monks Hill Public Car and its junction with Crofton Lane. There will be access from Crofton Lane to Salterns car park but this will be controlled. If travelling to the Club by car, it would be wise to arrive early to allow for possible access and parking problems.
The race starts at Bay House School at 10:00am. The first runners could be passing Seafarers from about 10:15am. There will then be a steady stream of runners going along the prom. To avoid boats and runners coming into conflict, the race will begin 30 minutes early at 10:30 and all dinghies and the patrol boat should be on the beach by 10am.
As the race progresses the runners will string out. Thus there should not be a problem getting the boats back up over the promenade at the end of the race. There will be marshals in attendance along the prom.
