Access All Areas

Once again, Fareham Borough Council (FBC) is organising a summer holiday activity programme for 11-16 year olds titled "Access All Areas" (AAA). The full programme runs from 25th July to 29th August. Details of the full programme for 2019 can be found at the AAA webpage of FBC website.

On Tuesday 6th August the AAA venue will be the Salterns. In the past, FBC have provided a range of activities in the field adjacent the compound; sailing with Seafarers Sailing Club was just one of many activities on offer. However, because it proved so popular, our introduction to sailing has been the only activity at Salterns since 2018. You will recall that our purchase of three Hartley 12.2 dinghies was part-funded by an FBC grant. Our support for "Access All Areas" helped our grant application.

On Tuesday 6th August we will run introduction to sailing sessions from midday until 4pm. We need volunteers to assist with coordination, to act as beach crew, to crew a patrol boat and to helm dinghies (Club boats or your own) taking 2 or 3 teenagers for 40/45 minute sailing experience sessions. Tea or coffee and biscuits will be provided.

If you can help, please Volunteer for one of the vacant roles within the Duty Roster. If you are already Logged in, these will be visible below. It would be appreciated if all volunteers could be at the Club by about 11am.

Should strong winds mean that sailing has to be cancelled, we will set up a static display as we did in 2015 and 2016.
