Coronavirus and Seafarers - UPDATED

Published 22:15 on 20 Mar 2020

The Management Committee has been tracking the advice on the coronavirus pandemic very carefully so that it could make informed decisions on how the Club should move forward. Sadly, it has concluded that all club activities should be cancelled until at least the end of April. This includes postponing both of our first two RYA training courses, Intermediate Better Sailing and Advanced Day Sailing. The Committee appreciates how disappointing this will be, but is sure that all members will understand the logic.

The Committee will continue to review this decision, adjust plans as circumstances dictate and of course keep members fully informed. The clubhouse and garage will be locked, with access only available to a few key committee members to ensure the necessary safety and security measures occur. Should individual members, based upon their own personal judgement combined with the advice provided by the Government, decide to go recreational sailing, then they should only do so on their own or in small groups. The clubhouse, changing facilities, tractor and patrol boats will not be available.
